Blog More... What Are My Favorite Dog Blogs? #2

What Are My Favorite Dog Blogs? #2

August 4, 2013 //  by Pamela

As I explained last week, when Google Reader went kaput, so did my blog roll page. So I’m repopulating it in my idiosyncratic (that’s weird to those of you who like plain speaking) manner.

This week I’d like to share a few blogs I appreciate for the way the bloggers integrate their love for their dogs into the way they live their lives.

Yep, I can’t think of a way to express that in one word. But it’s the way I see these favorites.

Honey the Golden Retriever rolls in the grass.
You like integrated things? Well I’m integrating my fur with grass stains.

You’ll find the blog roll in progress on its page. The blogs I’m adding today will be highlighted in purple so you’ll know they’re new this week. (I apologize for the ugly formatting. But since I’m redesigning the blog, I didn’t want to spend too much time making this pretty just to have to re do it. Please be patient.)

Hope you’ll check these blogs out.

Your Turn: Do you lump all pet blogs together in your mind? Or do you divide them into categories, either in your head or computer?

Updated 8/11/13: The dog blogs that I enjoy reading to see how people have integrated their life with dogs are:

I definitely divide them into categories in my head, (Funny stories and photos, great place for recipes, sad ongoing events, places where I might learn something….etc., etc.,), but on my blogroll it is just one big list. I think splitting them up there would be hard, since many of them fit in more than one category.

I gave up on my blogroll, kept forgetting to update it (all mummy’s fault) *sigh* I have a wordpress generated thingy on my sidebar but it only links to posts that I’ve been able to hit the like button on. Not ideal but will have to do for now

Oh, they are definitely categorized! As I mentioned, I have the Intellectual Dog Blogs, the ones that make me think or ponder things with stories about dogs. There’s a special category for Greyhound and German Shepherd blogs. I have one for funny dog blogs, as well. There’s also one for other dog blogs that I enjoy but don’t fit into another clearly defined territory in my mind.

I have got different categories but Intellectual isn’t one of them. I don’t read many intellectual blogs, lol! Your blog is under ‘Favourites’ 😉

I do lump all pet blogs together and I’m starting to rethink that, because I currently have over 200 blogs to read and I know it’s not going to happen. I usually tend to start unfollowing like crazy, just to get the count down; this is a knee jerk / panic reaction that I’m not going to continue now that I’m with Blog Lovin so I’m hoping to find a different system 🙂

Mine are mostly just lumped together. I’d love to get them categorized and organized on my computer. Right. I’ll add that to my to do list. 🙂
So far you hit on a couple I already read, a couple I’m just familiar with but don’t read all the time, even though I want to, and new ones that I now need to give a look!

I have all dog category, wiener dog category. Smart and funny, instructive, and just plain brilliantly written. Love ’em all!
