Something Wagging’s Got the Blues

January 24, 2014 //  by Pamela

Honey the golden retriever has the blues.
I’ve got the “it’s only five below and no one wants to play” blues

It’s been a tough week.

I have the creeping crud that’s been finding its way around town. I’ve had tight work deadlines to meet. And it’s freaking cold.

I should be answering emails and leading a big push for the end of Train Your Dog Month. But I’m tired. Time for a rest. And maybe a little fun.

What do you do when things look bleak? You sing the blues.

I’m feeling better already.

Your Turn: What do you and your dog do to make yourselves feel better when you have the blues?

Not even allowed to chase squirrels?! That mom redeemed herself with the bacon. I guess. Get better soon, Pamela! Like my saying that will make it happen, right? I hope you do, though. πŸ™‚

    Thank you.

That’s all that needs to be said – cheered me right up.

Unfortunately, when I need to be cheered up, I go for a walk πŸ™‚ Not gonna happen…..

When in doubt, bring Dexter out!

When Mom is down in the dumps she either goes for a nice run or takes us dogs for a nice, super long walk. Those two things always cheer her up, and yes, even in the winter unless it is more than about -10F. The cold invigorates her…us too for that matter πŸ™‚ Keep your ears up!

Sorry you got the crud – and the cold! Sending warm, sunny thoughts your way πŸ™‚ Thanks for the afternoon laugh!!

Sorry your feeling a bit down and distracted. We’ve all been there. Heck, some of us are joining you as they type this comment. LOL! Hope things look up soon. (and warm up!)

P.S. Thanks for the cute vid. πŸ™‚

We snuggle under blankets and eat treats when the weather sucks. I read a good book and the six Wieners, after seeing how many of them can actually maintain lap contact, go to sleep and snore their little old doggy snores. Pure bliss.

Rough week for me, too, and I was just sitting here wondering what I could do to get myself out of this funk.

Cleaning my office would be a good first step. Clutter just makes me feel out of sorts.

Taking my girl for a long walk would be good too. I know it would certainly make her happy, and that makes me happy.

I love Dexter and his videos. We go for a walk sometimes or have cuddle time or do some training. Or I eat some dark chocolate and don’t share.

We wanna go outside and play! Until we do, and decide that playing for a very short time will be enough until it warms up a little.

Yeah, I needed that, too. Bogie also gets SOOOO bored when I’m not feeling well. He can’t cheer me up because he’s pouting.

Snuggles… and wine! πŸ™‚ Feel better soon!

Sorry your not feeling well. And we know what you mean about the cold. Seems we can’t catch a break, but we go for walks when we can or just cuddle.

    Hope you feel better soon!

I LOVE DEXTER! Peppermint too. These videos are so darned funny and perfect for when you’re not feeling well. Watch more Dexter and get well soon!

I want to say I do something like take the dogs for a walk. Sadly, my answer lately has been to take a nap…which is not productive or helpful…but feels so good at the time.
