No one has ever called me sweet.
Opinionated. Smart. Talkative. Funny. Weird. Yes, all those things. But never sweet.
Until recently.
No, You’re the Sweet One
Our new friends, Beth and Gizmo, at Terrier Torrent have given us the Super Sweet Blogging Award.
I’m flattered. They’re a cool duo who write about fun hikes near their Florida home. It’s worth checking them out just to see Gizmo posing in a tree.
But calling me sweet? I can only assume they were bitten by some weird tropical bug or suffering from dehydration from their last walk.
So I guess I’d better express my thanks and move along before they recover and ask for the award back.
Following the Rules
Blogging awards always have rules. This one asks a bunch of questions that only point out how un-sweet I am.
1. Cookies or Cake?
I guess cookies. But, if you’re asking, I’d rather have a big slab of warm, crusty bread covered in butter. Or maybe a plate of sashimi.
2. Chocolate or Vanilla?
Hmmm. Not sure. Right now a bowl of homemade vanilla ice cream sounds pretty good.
3. What is your favorite sweet treat?
Really dense, New York style cheese cake. Plain. But only occasionally.
4. When do you crave sweet things the most?
When I’m sad. Normally, I crave sour or tart things—green olives, dill pickles, inari sushi, grapefruit, lemonade, sour cream. Yummy!
5. If you had a sweet nickname, what would it be?
Well I’m certainly not called Honey, for obvious reasons. Sometimes my husband calls me Sunshine. See? Not sweet.
Passing Love Along

And now, I’m instructed to pass this award onto 13 (a baker’s dozen, eh?) bloggers.
Unfortunately I have house guests arriving shortly and Honey needs a nail trim (although I’m sure she’s willing to sacrifice the grooming so I can keep blogging).
So I’m going to pretend I just converted to the metric system and pass this along to 7 newish bloggers (or at least new to me) that I’ve met recently.
Blogging is hard work and I want to thank each of these folks for using their time to entertain and inform us all. I can’t wait to see who they pass the Super Sweet Blogging Award to.
And thanks again to Terrier Torrent for the recognition.
Have you ever gotten a compliment you thought didn’t fit? How about your dog?
You’re very welcome Pamela…Your caring and insightful posts and comments display a sweetness that keeps us coming back here every day…*sweetsnoogles* from Gizmo!
Congrats!! Just for the record, we think you’re very sweet too.
Huge congratulations! We sure think you are sweet! Mom laughed at this one: “What is your favorite sweet treat?
Really dense, New York style cheese cake. Plain. But only occasionally.”
Because she is EXACTLY the same!!
Barks and licks and love, Dakota
Aww! I think you’re plenty sweet!
Hey Honey, Jet here. Hi Miss Pamela.
Love your metric conversion, very clever!
We are friends with Gizmo, and we concur, he and Miss JG are super!
We also concur with your selections as we know almost everyone.
Enjoy your company and … very interesting about your partiality to sour… Mom is so a sweet! Do you ever make your own pickles??? (the quick pickling method, not the you know… old style!)
Not sure what you mean by a quick pickling method–would that be picking them up at the grocery store? Or maybe just cutting up some cucumber and putting it in the leftover pickle juice in the fridge? I’ve done both quite well. 🙂
Never tried real pickling.
Pamela, you always make me smile 🙂 Congrats on the award, obviously, you are sweeter than you think (and I love the fact that your husband calls you sunshine!!)
Thank you for including me, Pamela! I am not sure anyone has ever called me sweet either, but I do have quite a sweet tooth, so we’ll see! 🙂
Congrats on the award, and thanks so much for passing it on to me:-)
Congratulations and a very merry Christmas to your family!
Congratulations on your award!! I think you have some sweetness in you:)))
Hope you have a wonderful Christmas!
Congratulations, Pamela! We think this is a very fitting award as you are one of the sweetest, most thoughtful bloggers out there.
We hope you have a lovely Christmas surrounded by family and friends and filled with good cheer.
Well my friend, I have to say I think you’ve been very sweet to me, you’ve helped me with so many things. I think it’s a well deserved award! Congratulations and Merry Christmas!
It’s too bad you picked “plain cheesecake” and “vanilla,” because I make a mean chocolate cheesecake! If you’re ever feeling adventurous, and in my neck of the woods, I’ll be happy to treat you!
