Win Your Very Own Kurgo Car Seat Cover! Giveaway

We’ve found threatening notes in the car. Luckily, we have Kurgo to protect us.

And here’s your chance to get some protection too.

Honey the golden retriever in rental car with all our stuff.

The only threatening notes you’ll find in this car is one from me threatening to run away if you don’t get me more room.

Bullies At The Rental Agency

Even before we moved onto a sailboat, we didn’t own a car for several years.

Honey didn’t mind. We took lots of long walks together to do everyday errands.

But sometimes we needed a car. Enter the rental agency.

For years we saw stickers on the windows threatening smokers with huge fines for smoking in the car.

As a non-smoker with smoking relatives I understood. It’s almost impossible to clean, mask, or remove the smell of smoke from upholstery.

Then I started seeing similar threatening signs about dog hair.

Honey the Golden Retriever sheds.

Go ahead, groom me all you like. I’ll make more.

Cleaning up dog hair is a nuisance, there’s no doubt about it. Everyday I take it off my clothes, bedding, upholstery and dig it out of my cockpit drains so we don’t sink the boat in a following sea.

But it’s not exactly a permanent alteration to car upholstery like cigarette smoke or other strong odors (unless you’re driving your skunked dog around).

The signs really bugged me, for no good reason.

We never returned a rental car without thoroughly vacuuming it to remove any telltale signs a golden retriever had ridden in it.

I just didn’t like the tone.

Luckily, we had Kurgo as bully protection.

Enter The #Kurgo Wander Hammock

Last year I did a review and giveaway for a Kurgo Wander Hammock, a sturdy seat cover that resisted water and staining and mostly kept dog hair contained. (Click the link to see our video.)

How much did I love it?

Well, enough that it made the cut and came with us on the boat. We have it packed away for protection the next time we need to face the rental car bullies.

Win a Kurgo car seat cover.

Kurgo makes car seat covers for bucket and bench seats and hammocks to keep nasty dog hair from getting onto carpet or flying into the front. And if your little stinker loves mud and snow, they even have waterproof covers that look like they’ll stand up to the biggest messes.

We’re joining in a group giveaway for a Kurgo car seat cover! One lucky reader will win their choice of covers to best fit their car.

Even if you have your own car and don’t feel bullied by rental car agents, you’ll appreciate a cover that keeps your car people and pet friendly.

I would say it is the MUD!

I was all about the dog hair when we did our review last year. But it turned out to be a muddy spring day. And I was thrilled at how easily I could shake off the dirt when we took the Hammock out of the car.

It was great to keep the upholstery clean.

Before we lived here full-time, we’d regularly make the 6.5 hour trip with the dogs in the back. We have dog hair woven into the carpeting and the headliner, and dog drool just about everywhere. We clean the vehicle a couple times a year, but we’ve given up on trying to get all the dog hair out.

Yeah, I know what that’s like. We did the same thing when we owned our Subaru.

Of course, it was really embarrassing when we had to drive a human around. There’s more than one hitchhiker who probably choked on the swirling dog hair. 🙂

Mud and dog hair. I have an Aussie and a Border Collie and they each shed so much I don’t understand how they aren’t bald. Darn double-coated dogs!!!

Mom says the biggest cause of winter messes is all the energy I have left over after taking a walk in the rain. I say she shouldn’t leave things out if she doesn’t want me to play with them.

Our guys don’t shed that much; it’s the nose prints on the windows we have learned to live with.

Aren’t those just doggy decorations? 🙂

In answer to the comment: all of they above!

My car is nicknamed “The Fur Bucket”. I don’t even try to keep the hair out. It is quite a MESS! Saves me giving anyone a ride. No one wants to get in my car 😉

If I won this giveaway, it would be for John’s car that he keep’s OCD clean!

Are you sure John would let Jimmy and Wilson in his car even with a seat cover? 🙂

We lease our vehicles and when it was time for a new one, I wasn’t getting anything but leather upholstery. But they still find places to put carpet so seat covers are definitely still needed to help!

So you know what I’m talking about. It’s very difficult when you have to return a car in good shape at the end of your lease.

And for your situation, the Hammock would probably be the best choice. It protects the foot wells as well as the seat.

The biggest mess would have to be slush and mud!!!

  9. Lauren Miller says

Oh wow, how weird that they would leave threatening notes about dog hair! I’ve never seen a rental agency do that before!

We are totally in need of a new seat cover. The last time I washed our old one, the washer killed it. We live in Oregon and 2/3rds of the year it’s a mud/muck mess out there! The big park we take the girls to is almost always muddy.

It has to be waterproof for me. Luckily, I’ve often heard my bipeds say that there’s nothing quite like the smell of damp dog – it’s nice to be appreciated!

That’s pretty brilliant. Lately I’ve noticed I’m shedding a lot and with long hair, that really shows up. Maybe I should walk around with one of those! 🙂

It’s the sand/dirt that comes in on the feet. That is the thing I hate the most!

Right now it is mud, Missouri has had so much rain this year. Floods have made travel in our state a nightmare, and many homes and businesses have lost everything.
