Fun! Wherever my dogs would go, they’d like to stay in a pet friendly hotel where all sizes and breeds are welcome, and they don’t put you in a smoking room. Oh yes, the hotel must have room service.

I think — I *hope* — our vacation is exactly the one our dogs would plan for themselves.

Because we plan it specifically for the dogs!

We head to Lake Anna every summer where the dogs (Labradors and Lab mixes) have 10 days of off-leash, out the back door access to the lake. There’s nonstop retrieving, swimming, dock jumping, boating, island exploring, and napping in the sun! And even a a little Jet Skiing if they are so inclined.

We actually pack double their normal food because they’re so active. It’s crazy fun!

At 13 BJ would focus on food and treats and would plan a relaxing time at a barbecue with chicken, steak, liver, and peas and of course treats. It would also include car rides.

Kol is a bit of a “homedog”. His ideal vacation includes me, chained to the stove, cooking for him at a breakneck pace.

Felix on the other hand, wants to go to every street fair, festival, park and event EVER. He loves the action and is an amazing city dog.

Rita’s life pretty much already is a vacation, but to make it even better she’d wish that daddy was around all the time, joining us for our long walks and for her naps.

And thank heaven we don’t have to do “butt view” snapshots!

Our dogs would definitely want to go to a cabin on a lake. Sheba and Cricket could swim and chase the ball all day, and Moses and Kobi could just hang out on the porch with the cooler. Which, yes, would be completely empty before we even got there!

Great idea and we did love the idea of the natural history museum having additional security for the bone exhibits. Mine would be go to a squirrel farm. Have a terrific Thursday.

Callie, Shadow, and Ducky would definitely say leave the computers and phones at home. Well, maybe not the cellphone since I almost never use it anyway…it truly is mostly for emergencies, like when I lock my keys in the car (which I haven’t done in years). I don’t have a “smartphone” b/c I have no use for it. When my little pink Motorola RAZR finally dies on me, I guess I won’t have the choice of a plain cellphone; but I’ll cross that bridge when I get to it.
