I am all for the anarchist award! I know people mean well when they give the awards, but I’m not a big fan of giving them out on our blog. I don’t like singling some people out for awards and not giving it to others. I’m just a bad rule-follower in general!

I’m all about anarchy when it comes to the blog awards. It’s not that I don’t appreciate the recognition because I really do. I feel honored when someone selects me. I just hate the rules and feeling like it doesn’t serve our readers well. Do they really want to read how I won an award and now have to share something about myself (again)?

I like the spirit of camaraderie behind blog awards but I, too, suck at following the rules. I have rules in all parts of my life but my blogs are rule-free (which is not really true but sometimes I’m delusional). I’ve appreciated each one I’ve received and yes, Pam, most of them were when I was first blogging or from bloggers I regularly read/commented on. The ones I treasure are those from bloggers with whom I feel a real kinship. I like your idea of sharing with newer bloggers as a means of encouragement as well as to share new blogs with them.

I third Kristine and Jackie – Anarchy, Anarchy! I do like badges, though :). I also like office supplies and tack shops just because they’re cool….

And we won’t even need a badge for the Anarchist Blog Award because we want total anarchy! I appreciate the thought behind the awards, but I dread reading posts about them, fearing my name will appear(but I can’t NOT read them in fear my name will appear). They just don’t fit the tone of my blog, plus it seems like the number of blogs you have to nominate has increased substantially in the last few months. Up to 20 blogs? Someone had too much fun thinking that up.

Love the answer to #3…We live less than an hour from disney and i’m afraid of “the Mouse” too LOL! Congrats on your awards, they are well-deserved…make sure Honey gets an extra treat for being your muse. I think an Anarchy Award could be great fun…Anyone can claim or award it to someone else at any time for any reason…so today I give it to you and you don’t have to do a darn thing 😀

I hope Pluto isn’t the reason you are scared of Disney World! I applaud you for receiving and actually accepting these awards. I am terrible about acknowledging these awards myself. I made the decision last year to thank the person via a comment on their blog post but not to pass it on. The reason being is that if I suddenly started acknowledging & passing on, I would feel terrible about not going back and doing the same with all the awards I previously missed.

I am curious about how these awards originate. It would be a fun project to track down when they first started appearing in blogville and who started them.

We don’t do the award thing and I feel kind of bad, but we are so dull and boring that writing 7 or 10 things about ourselves would put our readers to sleep. 🙂
