What a fab idea. I’m with you completely I know that Valentines day is just an overly commercialised holiday (another one!) but this year still sucked massively and helped make me feel like a failure.

I also dislike Valentine’s day because I find it fabricated and cheesy and don’t understand why people can’t just be nice to one another every day.
But I like any extra opportunity to celebrate pals! Comes just under my cheesy metre 😉

Palentine’s Day is a fantastic idea!!! I’m not a big fan of the commercialism side of any holiday. My husband and I celebrated our first two Valentines together, but after that we decided it wasn’t worth it. After all, he can show me he loves me 364 other days of the year.

You just made me realize that today (Saturday) is a great day to go to the store and load up on a bunch of discounted chocolate. Thanks! 🙂

I was taught that Valentine’s Day is about celebrating LOVE. Not couple- hood. Not romance. So, yes, the depression Valentine’s Day causes for singles is disappointing- celebrate your heart and loving yourself and your life!- and the whole candy, chocolate, cards, expensive dinner romance stuff is dumb. Love has nothing to do with spending money or commercial goods. Dog know this! 🙂

I love your version…Palentine’s Day. How wonderful! Though, I did buy Daddy-dog his favorite little box of chocolates (shhhh, we only bought them yesterday – BOL – they were already on sale but the shelves were almost bare!). I hope you had a great Palentine’s Day.

We keep our Valentine’s Day Simple (as we try to do with all of our holidays). No flowers and candy for us…usually we get each other a card, and then go out for a nice dinner. This year, Nick cooked mushroom risotta, which he topped with Shrimp sauteed with garlic and spinach. It was DELICIOUS, and a quarter of the price of a dinner out.

A Palentine’s Day sounds good too. 🙂

We can take or leave Valentines Day. Mom says it was a lot of fun in grade school with decorating shoe boxes for Valentines and in high school it was fun going out on a date but since then it doesn’t matter and we don’t really celebrate. We have tons of love around every day and Valentines Day is no different.

I too could skip this holiday. I did spend 5.00 on props for my dogs pictures but nothing for the hunny and he got nothing for me either. I did get my screws out of my wrist and a big bandage for VD.
