Why Did I Ask Honey To Do That? Wordless Wednesday

Yesterday, I asked Honey to do something strange. Can you guess what and why from this picture?

Honey the golden retriever touches a balloon.

If you want me to do this, I guess you have your reasons. But I’ll be darned if I know what they are.
Unless it’s an excuse to give me a treat.

If you didn’t get it, come back tomorrow when I share the most important training tool (hardly) no one talks about.

  1. Looks like she had to grab a balloon that was floating around. Pretty one too!

  2. Training for clown school? 😉

  3. Oooh a cliffhanger! See you tomorrow.

  4. I’m guessing this might have something to do with bobbing floats in the water or maybe getting used to the sails on your boat? I asked Haley and she says it’s just balloon killer training, lol!

  5. Did you have her touch the balloons?

A long time ago, when I first got Zoe, she was afraid of novel objects in the environment. We lived in an apartment and near a bunch of complexes so when we’d walk we would often pass balloons. She used to be afraid of them! So I would cue her to go check it out.

  6. Like, Lauren I’m going to guess to explore something she seemed unsure of. Clewie sometimes gets “startled” by things floating in the water or weird items on our walks and I always try to give her time to approach and explore it with the thought that she would learn not to be freaked out by things. I’m hopeful it will pay off one day :-)

  7. You are just wanting to make her bark high pitched to record it.

  10. Looks like Honey’s about to meet a balloon 😉 Just read a balloon post on DZDogs.com – their Miss Ziva had a blast playing with/popping them!

  11. I feel like I should know this after spending some quality time with you – but I’m drawing a great big blank.

  12. Without reading the “tell all” post, I can honestly say I have no idea. So, now I’m going to go find out. (And try to catch up on my blog-post reading!)

  13. Cause you don’t want to be the only one in the family who does crazy things for no apparent reason? 😉
