Tue Cute Tuesday – The Blogger’s Friend

Honey sleeping on the couch.

Every morning I get up at five o’clock to write my morning’s blog post for Hands on Home Buyer (and Something Wagging if I’m really fast).

And every morning, Honey picks up her nearest toy, and follows me to the office–where she promptly falls back to sleep.

  1. Ahhh, it’s a dog’s life and a life I wouldn’t mind at all. :)

    • Yeah, I’m trying to figure out how I could get someone to feed me just for being cute and fuzzy.

I guess I have to become cute and fuzzy.

  2. Seems like a pretty good plan to me! Lilac likes to get us all up at 4:00, get her food and then go back to sleep! 😛

  3. Mike Webster says:

    That’s our snoozer!

  4. Five. O’clock. A.M. Well, that explains a lot.

I have a sister like that. She once dragged me out of bed at 7:30 on vacation in NYC so she could take me on a walk she already done from 6:00-7:30. I can barely rouse myself at 7:00 to get the kids off to school, and I’m not truly awake before 11:00. Even Our Best Friend has learned to sleep in!

    • And I bet you’re one of the crazy people who’s still fun at a party after 10 p.m. too, huh?

Sounds like OBF has figured out just how to fit into your household. Sounds like a match made in heaven.

  5. YOU, my dear, are a maniacal blogger :p I’ve sussed out that you and Kristine post about the time I should be tucked up in bed, around my midnight. Valium please!

    • Yes, it freaks me out a little bit when you comment at 6 a.m. our time with a remark about how the day went. I feel like an entire day passed without me.

      D*mn international date line. :)

  6. I’m a morning person too, but I TRY not to be up at 5am. Guaranteed, even when I get up at 6am, Sage will come out, have a drink of water, go outside to potty and go straight back to bed.

    • I used to love getting up at 5 a.m. to run. It’s quiet and solitary.

But mostly I get up so early because I’m a terrible insomniac. After a while, I got tired of laying awake trying to get back to sleep. Now that 5 a.m. is my normal wake up time, I find myself lying awake starting at 3 a.m. Yucko!

  7. Awww, that’s so cute. I like it when Shiva sleeps beside me as I write as well. It is much more enjoyable than her usual pawing at my laptop. That just makes me feel guilty.

5:30 is early enough. I don’t know if I could go without that extra half-hour, as much of a morning person as I am. You are one dedicated blogger!

    • See comment above–not dedicated. Just insomniac.

But if I started getting up at 3 a.m. I might be able to take up a new activity like agility (before I collapsed from lack of sleep).

I keep reading about how impaired people get form lack of sleep. I wonder what I’d be able to accomplish if I were actually working without a sleep deficit?

  8. I take Honey isn’t much of a morning dog? Or at least not that early. bol What a better place to be than next to you. :)

    • That’s the nice thing about having 1 dog. It’s easy to sync with her habits.

Are all your dogs on the same schedule? Or do you have to cope with 6 different schedules?

  9. What a sweet photo of Honey!
My husband sometimes gets up at 5 to finish off his work, and George just snicks in his place in our bed to keep his mummy warm :)

  10. Aw, she’s so sweet!
