Gretchen Rubin wrote in The Happiness Project about the year she spent “test-driving the wisdom of the ages, the current scientific studies, and the lessons from popular culture about how to be happy.” The Puppiness Project is my attempt to learn the same from Honey, my Golden Retriever.
When I spend too much time sitting at the computer, Honey will start to bark insistently, urgently. She must go out! Right now!
Down we head to the back door. I let her out, she sprinkles the grass, and then Honey starts doing “zoomies” all over the yard.
Honey’s body knows what my brain does not– sometimes you’ve just got to let a little steam off and run around.
I’m going to keep this post short. I’ve gotta go do some “zoomies” with my dog.

Thank goodness we pups are there to remind our humans of the truly important things in life! I don’t know how many mornings I have dragged mom out to sit with me in the sun and watch the butterflies, or listen to the new birdies chirp, or now, to collect the incredibly beautiful leaves I bring to her. There is so much wonder to behold and share in.
Thanks for the kind words and encouragement you left on my blog about my new sister, Puff.
