Stop Chasing Tail to Reduce Animal Overpopulation

Roxanne Hawn of Champion of My Heart introduced me to the Animal Purity Movement.

One man’s campaign to end animal overpopulation by preventing dogs and cats from having “the sex” (at least until they are spayed or neutered) is Joey will do whatever it takes to get dogs and cats to “stop chasing tail”–stage interventions, invent useful products (like the doggie chastity belt), and educate families about how to talk to their dogs and cats about the birds and the bees.

You can see Joey’s efforts in a series of webisodes available at his site. Here’s one of my favorites, an intervention with Mr. Bobo:

This movement is gaining traction. It has inspired others to follow in his footsteps.

At Kim Clune’s One Wild Life, you’ll see a very special episode of her teaching her Newfie about tenderness, respect, and keeping “it” in his pants.

So join the cause. Spread the word. And have “the talk” with the animals in your life. After all,

“I believe the puppies are our future

Teach them well and let them lead the way”
