One Of These Things Is Not Like The Others – Wordless Wednesday

I took these pictures within two weeks of each other.

Can you tell which picture is not like the others?

Honey the golden retriever sit in the snow.

Hurry up, camera shutter. I’m sitting as still as I can.

Honey the golden retriever at Ithaca Falls.

Are you sure gray skies bring out the gold in my coat? I think they just bring out the cold in my goat.

Hurry up and snap the picture. That ball isn’t going to fetch itself.

Have you figured out which picture is different yet? Or should I find myself a nice stick to chew while I’m waiting?

Did you pick out one picture that’s different?

Yep, that’s actually sun in the third picture down. When the sun battles its way through the clouds to make an appearance, we run toward it like a man in the desert looking for water.

Friends in Arizona, Florida, and Australia are invited to send us any sunshine they can spare.

  1. Luckily in Minnesota we usually have tons of sunshine in the winter. This December has been dreadful as it was too warm most of the month and we had that awful grey, fog, wet cold, but we are back in the sunshine business now. What a difference it makes!

  2. We’ll send you some from California too.

  3. We have frost, but I’m praying for snow. Feel free to send me yours

  8. The strangest thing has been happening in Michigan lately – we’ve had sun for the past few weeks! While I was at work I actually had to close the blinds because it was glaring into our faces. It’s very strange this time of year. And I noticed the difference in the photos; the illumination of the sun stands out quite a bit. Have a great new years eve and a happy new year.

  9. Here in so. Quebec we’ve had a lot of cloud lately, although today we’re getting some sunny breaks :-) The whole family is happier when it’s sunny. Happy New Year anyway!

  12. You’ve got me wondering if there’s something wrong with New Zealand sun 😉 I’d send you some if we had any to spare but so far our Summer has been like most of our Spring, a waste of a good season! We had a lovely mild, relatively dry Winter and the warm/hot weather has only just arrived but it’s been humid warm most of the time with little sun. I don’t know anybody who likes muggy weather! But at least you’re past the shortest day so you’ve got better weather to look forward to :) Regardless of the weather, Honey takes a lovely photo.

  13. We had snow in our otherwise snow-free portion of Arizona yesterday. My sister in Payson got 14″ – ours wasn’t so bad, but enough that the media had a frenzy.

  14. Good to see you at least have a dog that seems acclimated to spending lots of time in the snow!

  15. I recognized it as soon as I saw it, even though I have almost forgotten what that elusive sunshine and blue sky looks like lately!
