I have a lot to be thankful for.
- Each of my generous donors who supported the Tompkins County SPCA March for the Animals.
- The encouragement I received from my readers who donate and volunteer for a variety of animal welfare causes.
- My husband Mike and friend Diana who joined in the walk on a cold and rainy Saturday morning.
- And most of all for Honey who is the kind of dog who can take a walk with a hundred other people and animals without becoming a slathering, growling demon dog.
For years, I’ve wanted to participate in the annual fundraising walk with my dog. And each time we’ve attended and said to ourselves, “This would be too much for (insert dog name here; Agatha, Shadow) to handle. They couldn’t deal with all these other dogs.”
Thank you, Honey.

Thank you everyone for all your support and encouragement.

Congratulations to Pup Fan!
I am glad the even went so well, even if it looks like you had to deal with the same rain we had. Love the rubber boots. 🙂 Most importantly, I hope they were able to raise a lot of money in support of their terrific programs.

Congratulations to Pup Fan and congratulations to you Pamela, and to Honey and Mike. What a worthwhile event and I’m sure you raised a lot of money. Great job!
Pup Fan
Oh wow… thank you, Pamela! That’s so cool. Can I be a total dork and say that you can donate the $25 I won to the Tompkins County SPCA instead? (Or, if it’s already in gift card form and that’s too complicated, I’ll use it to buy stuff for a local group here. Either way, I’ll email you.) 🙂

Yay! Looks like a fun day (even with the rain!). I can never take Cali to events like that, it’s much too overwhelming for her . . the people are fine, but all of the dogs make her nervous. I’m glad Honey enjoyed herself! Congrats to Pup Fan 🙂

I’m glad that it was such a successful walk for you, and that you and Honey had such a great time. One of the things I love the best about our girls is that I can take them anywhere without worrying about how they’ll behave. I hope the two of you get to do a lot more fun things together!
Jen
I am glad to hear that you had a great time supporting such a wonderful cause!!
Leroy and I are participating in our first walk-a-thon later this month! I am nervous but I can’t wait!!
Kirsten
Very very sweet. Congratulations to you and Honey–sounds like you were a great team. Now I hope you go and take pictures of all those people out walking with their guinea pigs.
The Lady
I am glad I have Daisy too! She likes going to all sorts of events. It woul dbe too much for Bella most of the time. She just doesn’t handle crowds (or noise, or a whole list of things, lol).
I love getting out and doing stuff with the girls!

How many times have I said those same words?? Geez, probably at least once or twice today already!!
We are living right thru you Pamela and enjoying how you are enjoying you life with Honey!! ROCK ON!!
Greyhounds CAN Sit
Congratulations to Pup Fan and I’m glad your toe held out for the walk!
Hope you raised lots of money for your shelter. It’s a wonderful cause and everything is made better by having Honey along:)

Congratulations on the successful walk! Two years ago there’s no way we could have taken Our Best Friend on a dog-infested walk. Now I think it would semi-okay!
Golden retrievers really are my favourite breed. One day I’ll have a calm, non-reactive pooch. A therapy dog. An ambassador for dogs in general. Right? RIGHT????
