Lies, Damned Lies, and Statistics

Kristine, over at Rescued Insanity, kindly passed on an award. And not just any award. It’s “the most awesome award ever made.” At least that’s what I read somewhere. Check it out  yourself.

See, I told you.

So thank you, Kristine. You are a never ending source of embarrassing riches. Or should that be an embarrassment of riches? I don’t know. But thank you anyway.

Award recipients must pass the award onto five other people and then tell five facts about themselves. Four of the facts are supposed to be lies and one should be true. Kristine added her own unique spin to it by listing four truths and one lie.

So here’s my list of award recipients:

No Dog About It

Tales from the Dach Side (is that the best punny title, or what?)

Life with LuLu (and Wally, too!)

According to Gus

The Portuguese Water Blog

And now for the revealing facts (and lies). I think Kristine’s way was more fun than telling a bunch of lies. So I’m put my own spin on it by telling four half-truths and one lie. Can you spot the outright lie?

Check back soon for the big reveal. And don’t forget to vote for the one you think is an utter lie.

  1. Ha ha ha! Thank you for my afternoon laugh! I voted for the one I think is a lie and I am darned curious to find out which one it is!

  2. Love it!

  3. I like your lies/half-truths! And, the set up with the click button was slick. I may need to steal that one. Guess I’ll be checking back now for sure huh? :)

    • The poll is set up through poll daddy. It’s a pretty cool site and it’s easily integrated into WP with a plugin.

See ya for the big reveal.

  4. Congrats on your award and much thanks for passing it on to us!

I love voting in Poll Daddy polls. There’s something comforting about remaining anonymous when answering silly questions. 😀 Looking forward to hearing which was the utter lie!

    Happy Friday!

    • Hmmm, I hadn’t really thought about the anonymity of Poll Daddy. I wonder what’s the craziest thing I could ask people and still get them to click?

  5. Dear lord, another bunch of lies and half truths to sift through. So difficult! My brain is aching. I ticked the Elvis one. Only because I think you’re a water lover and really might have swum across one of those gigantic lakes. Can’t wait for the answer. Have a great weekend xox

    • So you’re using the logical method. Trying to figure out from context which one is the lie. Very interesting.

  6. Very clever, even if they all sound concocted! When’s the unveiling?

  7. I love it! Your list is just too much fun. I had to guess the great lakes because it was the most boring. Trying to think like a schemer. You have lived a fascinating life, regardless.

    • I think of my life as very dull and wish I had done more so far. But anyone can make their lives look like an adventure when you’re trying to tell a story. We should all try to do it more.

  8. I was being logical too and came up with a different conclusion than the logical Georgia, i.e., I decided that #1, #4 and #5 were related and that if your husband to be hadn’t actually thrown up on you he would be mightily irritated by the accusation. So the only one that didn’t belong was the great lakes one.

Of course I didn’t know about your love of water. Or I did and I forgot.

  9. I think your husband, who is an Elvis impersonator, vomited on your clown suit after jumping out of a plane and the only way you could get it clean was to swim a Great Lake… or something like that.

    What was the question again?

  10. Congrats on your award! :)
