It’s That Time Again

Pet Blogger's Gift Exchange BadgeI’m late.

No, not that kind of late. We won’t be hearing the pitter patter of a little dog blogger typing around the house.

Nope, I’m late getting ready for the Third Annual Pet Blogger Gift Exchange. (Read about how the first Pet Blogger’s Gift Exchange began).

But better late than never, eh?

What Is The Pet Blogger’s Gift Exchange?

What feels better than getting a card or unwrapping a present?

Hearing someone say nice things about you.

Zoe the Australian Cattle dog foster puppy wags her tail at Honey the golden retriever.

That’s a pretty nice wag, Zoe. We’ll make a golden retriever of you yet.

And that’s what the Pet Blogger’s Gift Exchange is all about. I’ll pair interested bloggers at random. Paired bloggers will compliment, support, and encourage each other by sharing through social media or writing a special post.

I’ll set up a blog hop so everyone can see all the kind words in one place.

Sounds great, doesn’t it?

At least that’s what the more than 100 bloggers who have joined the fun in the past had to say.

Zoe the cute foster puppy falls over in front of Honey the golden retriever.

Of course it would be a better effect if you didn’t keep falling over. Sigh, puppies.

How Do I Sign Up?

Go to the Rafflecopter below. Enter information about your blog and social media accounts so I can pass them onto your gift exchange partner.

Don’t wait.

I’ll be pairing bloggers next weekend and telling you who you’re matched with by Monday, December 8.

Bloggers who enter after Monday will be paired as other bloggers become available.

Oh, and one lucky blogger will win a $20 Amazon gift certificate.

Honey the golden retriever wrestles with Zoe the foster puppy.

You dare to jump on me, Zoe? You know I can put your whole head in my mouth, right?

After I’m Matched With A Blogger, Then What?

After you get your match, visit your blogger buddy. Read their posts. Follow them on social media.

Then write a post (or more) on your blog. Enter it in the blog hop I’ll set up. And share, share, share on social media.

We’ll keep the Pet Blogger’s Gift Exchange going until Tuesday, January 6. That way, even if you’re crazy busy while your kids are off school for winter holidays, visiting family, or finishing up your own semester’s work, you should have time to join the fun.

Zoe the foster puppy stands on the porch with Honey the golden retriever.

Honey, I heard something about gifts. Is that what you call the flashy thing the woman keeps putting in our faces?

What If I Don’t Have A Blog?

If you like reading funny stories about pets, enjoy learning more about caring for your pet, looking at cute pictures, or hearing hopeful stories about animal welfare, thank a blogger.

Many bloggers spend hours each day writing posts and editing photographs. And very few of them cover the costs of hosting their blog.

Share the love by reading about the bloggers in the hop. Leave a nice comment. Link to your favorite posts on Facebook, Twitter, or Google+.

Sorry you aren’t eligible for the giveaway this time. But I’ll have more giveaways in the coming year for you to enjoy.

Or join a great new Facebook group, Pet Contests and Giveaways, where you can find lots of cool prizes to win.

  1. How exciting is this! I’m in Pamela…

  2. Um, Pamela do I qualify?? I would love to be involved again but as I pet enough??

    • C’mon, Lauranne, does Honey look like the kind of dog who would ever turn away a friend from our gift exchange? :)

Please join the fun. The more the merrier.

  3. What is the $ amount each person should spend? Are you matching multiple dog homes with multiple dog homes, and single pet homes with single pet homes?

    • This is a non-traditional gift exchange. There are absolutely no physical gifts being sent or money being spent.

Instead, the gift is to write a lovely blog post telling the world all the great things you’ve learned by checking out your blogging partner’s blog. And follow up with any nice social media activities you like.

For example, a few bloggers set up special Pinterest boards with links to their partner blogger’s best articles.

If you want an example of what some people have done in the past, here’s a link to last year’s hop: http://www.somethingwagging.com/how-do-you-choose-the-best-gift-pet-bloggers-gift-exchange-2013/

Does it make more sense now?

  5. That has been fun before…isn’t this the third year? I’m in, but I can’t do Rafflecopter eiher. Will this comment work as my entry form? I have a Pinterest page and Twitter, but I pretty much ignore them.

    • Hooray. So glad you’re back again, Jan. As the longest blogging person I know, you add a touch of class to the proceedings. :)

Honey loves all critters so she’s particularly thrilled to have a bunny joining the party.

  7. I think the Rafflecopter worked OK, but I couldn’t get my Pinterest URL in, because Pinterest isn’t working! That’s no big deal though.
I’m excited and can’t wait! Will I get to meet someone new, or get to heap praise on someone I already know and love? Either way it’s so much fun.
Thanks for doing this again, Pamela!

    • So glad to count you in. I just tried to open Pinterest a little while ago and also got bupkus.

You can always email the link to me or add it to the Rafflecopter later. I find it difficult to track down people’s Pinterest accounts.

  8. Last year I did the Advent Calendar with Kol’s Notes and had no time for other stuff, but this year I decided not to do that and see what else it out there. I’ve entered my info in the rafflecopter and think it will be lots of fun! Thanks for hosting this event!

    • Well, I’m not guaranteeing as much fun as Jodi’s Advent Calendar. She really knows have to host a good party. :)

    • Yay, so glad you’re joining us again, Beth.

Especially since every time I post something from Daily Dog Tag on FB, I get comments about what a unique treasure your blog is. It’s the blogging equivalent of hanging out with the homecoming queen. :)

Hope you enjoy your match this year.

  11. Count me in, Lady!! I tried to do the raffle copter thing early this morning but had trouble with it and gave up. Please add me to the list…nothing’s changed since last year other than my routine.

  14. I would love to participate. I actually just found your blog through twitter and I am relatively new to blogging, myself, so this is a great opportunity to meet others within the community. What a great idea!
The Rafflecopter was being wonky for me, as well, so my email address is:
    agirlandherchi@gmail.com

    And my URL is: http://www.agirlandherchi.com

    Thanks so much!

    • Hi Heather Lynn,

Sorry the Rafflecopter gave you fits. I find it doesn’t like the Safari browser very much. Other than that I don’t know why it does (or doesn’t do) what it does.

I’ve added you to the list and put you into the Rafflecopter so you can be entered in the drawing.

So glad you joined the fun.

  15. Thanks for taking the time to hostess this party, it’s lovely for an introvert (like me) to be offered such lovely guidance for engagement :->

  16. Oh no, how did I miss this?! I just entered so hopefully someone else will be late as well :)

  17. Hi Y’all!

This is a hectic time of year, just like for everybody. Now through the end of the year the Humans will be pulling their hair out to get ready for all of their business meetings, and get to them, plus the usual Christmas rush stuff. Since the last couple of weeks have been packed with meetings and travel, some of which I got to go along, I’m late! Hope somebody else is too!

    Merry Christmas,
    Hawk aka BrownDog

    • Glad you’re making time to join the fun. I’ll be in touch as soon as another person signs up. If I don’t hear from someone in a day or two, we can match up ourselves.

BTW, we know how crazy busy everyone is so the linky tool will be open until January 6. Hopefully that will help.
