Honey’s Holiday Happening – clue #1

Golden Retriever

Can you sniff out where I went on vacation?

Honey just got back from a much needed vacation. It’s hard being the cutest dog ever and she needed a break.

Each day this week, I’ll give another clue to help you guess where she went and I’ll have a drawing from all the correct answers after Saturday. The prize will be a gift card from Amazon.com.

Don’t give away any answers in the comments. You can read all the rules here to find out how to make your entry.

Here’s today’s clue:

Each year, a World Series is held here. The location never changes no matter which teams are playing.

Okay, sweetheart, I’ll hush up. You can let go of the super-wedgie now. :)

  2. That helps… Not at all! 😛 I have a feeling this is going to be very tough.

    • Well I didn’t want everyone to get it the first day. You’ll get enough clues to get there–especially armed with Google and a history degree. :)

  3. the world series? what’s that? oh dear.

    • Americans, who are not known for their humility or their logic, host the World Series of Baseball every year–in which we try to find out which baseball team is the best in the world.

Of course, all the teams are American (except for one lone Canadian team from Toronto). The series conveniently avoids all the baseball teams in Latin America and Japan.

But it’s a pretty iconographic competition in the U.S. So some other sports have also used the term to describe their competitions.

Since I filled in all this background for you, you can probably guess I’m not talking about the World Series in baseball (which is held in a different city every year). So maybe you can start googling to find the connections as I leave more clues.

      Good luck!

  4. World series of what? This is going to be tough! At least I’ve got Google, no history degree though.

  5. I’m guessing you were in a smallish town along I-80 in central PA. =)
