Help Wanted To Keep Something Wagging Wagging

Honey the Golden Retriever is sad.

You’re right. Why would I want to go sailing in an island paradise for a month? I’ll just stay home and take care of the blogs… NOT!

Did you hear that I’ll be sailing off the coast of Panama this fall?

I’m hoping I can find someone to pet sit my blog(s) while I’m away. Honey didn’t want the job.

Here’s the job description. Could this be you?

Needed: One person to keep site wagging while blogger is out of the country. Employment will last the month of September 2013.

Skills & Tasks: The successful candidate will be familiar with WordPress and social media. Experience with Triberr helpful but not necessary.

Duties will include approving new comments for two blogs, approving tweets through Triberr, and keeping fingers crossed that no technical problems arise. Blog posts will be pre-written and scheduled.

Compensation: Are you kidding me? Do you see any ads for porn on this site?

But seriously, payment will be offered in trade satisfactory to both parties. Possible payments include 20 blog post ideas suitable for successful candidate’s blog, guest posts, or social media slave labor.

This is a tremendous opportunity for a blogger with too much time on her hands (hah!) who enjoys snooping in medicine cabinets, or the blogging equivalent, checking out the dashboard and stats of a fellow blogger.

Apply: Interested candidates may apply by sending email or leaving a comment to this post.

Don’t Delay. Apply Today!

  1. Too much time? Ha, if you find any spare, let me know will ya? :)

  2. Hey, Pamela. You mean to say you’re not live blogging from the Ocean? But how can we go along with you if you and Honey aren’t keeping us informed?

    • Well… The people we’ll be sailing with actually do post updates from their travels: http://gilana.org/. But Kuna Yala is considered pretty remote. I think only 40 of the 300+ islands are inhabited. So I’m not counting on WiFi.

Besides, I don’t even want to know what our hosts would think of me if I told them I had to post to my dog blog every day. :)

Hopefully I’ll have lots of great pictures and stories when I return.

Hey, it just occurred to me to check A Traveler’s Library to see if you had reviewed any books on the Kuna Yala people.

  3. Well, I am definitely a blogger with way too much time on her hands, but I don’t know anything about WordPress. Darn!

  4. I hope someone steps forward. I barely post enough on my two blogs though ideas swim in my brain (what that says about my brain I’d rather not explore). Plus, I don’t tweet.
Hope you have a GREAT time.

    • I can relate to too many ideas and not enough time, myself.

Hey, Roberta, with all those dogs around haven’t you taught one to blog yet? :)

  5. Mom was hoping it is a Golden dog sitting job. We are happy to help out and no compensation needed. Just let us know. So where is Honey staying? Maybe you can drop her off in Chicago. Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar

    • Actually, when we first got the offer to go sailing, one of my first ideas was to figure out which of my dog blogging friends had a situation that might work for Honey. :) But Sugar would probably find a Golden Retriever who doesn’t swim just crazy.

I have a very good friend who Honey just loves who does pet sitting on the side. She’ll be living in our house while we’re gone. And Honey is so crazy about her, I bet she won’t even miss us.

  6. I don’t know anything about Tribeer, but if you need someone to take care of your blog, that uses both WP and Twitter, then I am willing to try. I’m visually impaired and use a screen reader, so I’m not totally sure how accessible Tribeer is…

  7. Not sure if I would meet your expectations!!! You are much brighter than I am! If you can’t find anyone else, I am seriously considering it!
But…with 2 blogs already…ugh….I don’t know! If you are in a bind, let me know!

  8. I’m more qualified to take care of Honey. I don’t use WordPress, or the other site.

Honey is welcome to come to NY and stay with me.

  9. I can’t stand Honey’s sad face – please let me know if I can help in any way :)

  10. We would love to help out but we just don’t have the time. That will be crunch time for my book, and mom still has that stupid “real job” thing that is always getting in the way. Have fun sailing!

  11. If you’re having a tough time finding someone who can fully commit, please feel free to contact me. I’m very comfy with WP, getting more comfy with Triberr and could help monitor projects and such. I’m working on two projects in addition to the blog, plus a full-time job, so I’m quite busy but I’m also a workaholic. If you need someone in a pinch, I’m happy to help.

  12. Oh, I’d love to do this so much. But have my hands full with exams coming up soon. Hope you find someone!

  13. Good luck in finding someone. We don’t know WordPress. Have a marvellous Monday.
    Best wishes Molly

  14. I’m game if you still need someone. I think I can handle that stuff? :)

  15. Oh I don’t like the idea of you going away! I’m excited for you, but I don’t like it.

I just don’t have the insight to write like you, but if I can help with social media etc – or even if you get a bunch of guest posters, I could certainly get them formatted & posted :0)

  16. Sent you an email offering to help…make sure there’s lots of pictures when you get back!

  17. De Cunningham (@Skye613 ) says:

About the only requirement I could fill is Twitter. Would have loved to watch Honey! Dogs I can do.

  18. I hope you find someone to help you out. I have enough trouble getting mummy to help me with my blog lol

  19. Oh how I wish I could, but you know how much trouble I have keeping up with my own stuff!!!

I can’t believe you’ll be off-line so much of the time– I will miss you terribly!
