Back to School – Wordless Wednesday

Honey the Golden Retriever Takes an Apple for Teacher.

It’s the first day of school. Good job, Honey, for remembering to take an apple for the teacher. And there’s only a little bite taken out of it.

Talk Amongst Yourselves

This morning I’m jetting off to Panama to spend a month sailing around the Kuna Yala islands with our new friends on the sailboat Gilana.

[Note to burglars who read dog blogs looking for vacationers leaving empty houses – Our house is not vacant. Our pet sitter has a black belt in karate and our dog has a gold belt in lovies. You don’t want to encounter either of them in our home.]

Something Wagging This Way Comes won’t be dark. I’ve scheduled some posts to keep the lights on and to make sure our friends don’t forget us.

I often say that the best part of Something Wagging is the community of people who comment and share on Facebook and Twitter. I hope you’ll continue to chat even if I won’t be able to read your comments until after I return.

I’ll miss you all and keeping up with your news and stories.

Thank you to Beth of Terrier Torrent for hanging around Something Wagging and Hands on Home Buyer while I’m gone to approve new comments. Beth is a superstar blogger who goes on cool adventures with her terrier, Gizmo. Please stop by to say hi to her.

Just so you know, if you reply to anyone’s comments here, they’ll get a quick email so they know you’re talking to them. I hope you’ll talk amongst yourselves until I get back.

Your Turn: Honey loves seeing the kids walking by our house to go to school and the crossing guards with dog cookies. Is back to school a happy or stressful time for your dog?

  1. Have a great trip!

  2. I think the one thing my boys would not pose so nicely for a picture with is an apple. They just love them! And burglars reading dog blogs? So that’s how we get so many hits per day! I knew not that many people really want to look at pictures of our pets. Have a great time.

  3. Hubby read your blog this morning and asked me what kind of friends I have who are jetting off to Panama! Ha ha ha!

I hope you have a great trip, and I’ll be looking forward to hearing about what a great time you’ve had when you get back. Our dogs are sad to see school start back up for me, but I think Bunny secretly enjoys having the couch to herself.

  10. No kids in our house. There’s an elementary school across the street and sometimes the kids get loud. Neither BJ nor I like it.

School doesn’t affect us much here….though Kobi loves it if we’re walking and the kids get off the school bus and want to pat him!
